The issue with perfection
This blog is not meant to be perfect in that modern and sleek way. It is meant to conveigh information, and it does not have to be pretty or perfect to do that. Thank you for understanding.
When we set out to work on Axyl Projects a few things occured to us. We knew what we wanted, and we knew about how we wanted to get there. The issue that we were facing is the way that the world was working would not allow us to do some of the things that we had to do to get to our end goal.
one of the things that we are working on, Axyl Browser, is this thing that has created much interest in the way that our engineers think about what we are doing. if you do not engineer that type of software, there is really very little that you understand about it - comparative to if you do engineer that kind of software and do it on a pretty regular basis. As it has been stated in different part of the blog, we are a team of people from a diverse background of software and technology positions. From hackers and web devs to people who have written game engines for companies and people who code in c to the point that they call python "c with spices" we take no shame in the background of our core team, and we will take even less shame in the people who choose to come contribute and work with us in the future. The difference is that there are not a lot of people that will come work with and for us who have done work on a project like Axyl Browser, and they definately have not done it with the goals that we have in mind for Axyl Browser.
you see, I am not going to get to deep into any of our projects here, if you would like to read more about them then you can head over to that page here and read to your hearts content. What I will express is that our projects are not what you are immediately going to think that they are, at least not at this point in time. sure, one day we will likely be to where you expect us to be, though that is not in any way what we are doing right now. We are going to develop the best foundation for our products that you have ever seen, ensuring that as we build upon them they remain that, and we dont break them in the process of building things that are not on the roadmap right now.

The Roadmap
Over the next couple of months, our primary focus will be on several foundational activities that are essential for the long-term success of Axyl Projects. First and foremost, we will be dedicating significant time and effort to thorough product and market research. This means engaging with our community, listening to your needs and feedback, and carefully analyzing the broader landscape to ensure that our offerings are both relevant and impactful. We want to make sure that every step we take is informed by real-world insights and aligns with the expectations of our users.
In addition to research, we recognize the importance of securing the necessary resources to bring our vision to life. This includes actively seeking funding opportunities that align with our values and allow us to maintain our independence and commitment to open-source principles. We are exploring a variety of avenues, from community-driven support to ethical partnerships, always with transparency and the best interests of our users in mind.
Another key priority during this period will be the recruitment of talented and passionate developers who share our mission. We believe that building a diverse and skilled team is crucial for tackling the technical challenges ahead and for fostering a collaborative, innovative environment. If you are interested in contributing or know someone who might be, we warmly invite you to reach out and join us on this exciting journey.
By focusing on these areas—research, funding, and team building—we are laying the groundwork for a strong and sustainable future. We deeply appreciate your patience and support as we take these important steps, and we look forward to sharing our progress with you every step of the way.
We are also dedicating significant effort to researching advanced anticheat solutions and exploring innovative ways to integrate essential features directly into the operating system—always with privacy and security as our top priorities. Our goal is to develop anticheat mechanisms that are both effective and respectful of user autonomy, leveraging open-source principles to ensure transparency and community trust. This involves studying current industry approaches, identifying their strengths and weaknesses, and collaborating with both gamers and developers to design systems that deter cheating without compromising user rights or system performance.
Beyond anticheat, we’re investigating how to seamlessly integrate various services and functionalities into AxylOS in a way that rivals the polished experience found on platforms like macOS and Windows. We recognize the appeal of how these operating systems connect users to their devices, applications, and the broader digital ecosystem. However, our vision is to achieve this same level of integration while maintaining a commitment to openness, user control, and robust security. This means building features that work intuitively out of the box, but are also fully transparent and customizable—giving users the power to decide how their data is handled and what integrations they want to enable.
By approaching these challenges thoughtfully, we aim to set a new standard for what an open-source operating system can offer: the convenience and cohesiveness of mainstream platforms, but delivered in a way that puts privacy, security, and user empowerment at the forefront.
The Buildup
The buildup phase for the rest of the year is all about laying a strong foundation and generating excitement within our community. We want to be fully transparent about what this means in practice. Our primary focus will be on several key projects: developing the main Axyl OS, building our custom browser, working on the mobile edition, and creating the core libraries that will power the entire ecosystem. Each of these components is a significant undertaking on its own, and together they represent the backbone of what Axyl Projects aims to achieve.
For the main OS, we’ll be refining the user experience, improving hardware compatibility, and ensuring stability for both everyday users and power users alike. The browser project is about delivering a secure, privacy-focused browsing experience that integrates seamlessly with Axyl OS. The mobile edition will bring the Axyl philosophy to smartphones and tablets, aiming for a consistent and user-friendly experience across devices. Our core libraries will provide the essential tools and frameworks that developers need to build on top of Axyl, making it easier for others to contribute and extend the platform.
Throughout this process, we’ll be sharing regular updates, behind-the-scenes looks, and opportunities for community feedback. We want you to be involved at every stage—testing early builds, suggesting features, reporting bugs, and helping us shape the direction of each project. Your support and engagement are what keep us motivated, especially when we encounter challenges or setbacks. By building up together, we’re not just creating software—we’re creating a movement that everyone can be proud to be a part of.
The Grind
This is the part that we are actually kind of looking forward to—the grind. For us at Axyl Projects, the grind isn’t just a phase; it’s a mindset and a craft honed over years of experience. Every member of our team comes from a background in software engineering or architecture, spanning web development, systems programming, and networking. This diversity means we bring a wealth of technical expertise and problem-solving skills to the table, and we thrive on the challenge of building something from the ground up.
The grind is where ideas are transformed into reality. It’s the long nights spent debugging tricky issues, the countless iterations on user interfaces, and the deep dives into performance optimization. It’s about pushing through obstacles, learning from failures, and celebrating small wins along the way. We know from experience that this phase can be both exhilarating and exhausting—when done right, it’s the most rewarding part of any project, fueling our passion and sense of accomplishment. But we’re also aware that, if mismanaged, the grind can lead to burnout and frustration, the kind that makes people wary of big tech environments.
That’s why we’re committed to approaching this phase with intention and balance. We want to foster a culture where hard work is valued, but not at the expense of well-being or creativity. We’ll be sharing our progress openly, inviting feedback, and supporting each other through the inevitable ups and downs. For us, the grind isn’t just about getting things done—it’s about doing them together, learning as a team, and building something we can all be proud of.
The Needs
We recognize that bringing Axyl Projects to life will require significant financial resources—not just for development, but also for infrastructure, hardware, and the day-to-day costs of running a sustainable open-source initiative. However, we’re committed to maintaining our independence and ensuring that no outside party can dictate the direction or values of our work. That’s why we’ve made a conscious decision to avoid accepting large, controlling investments that could compromise our vision or community trust.
Instead, we’re choosing a community-supported model. To sustain ourselves, we’ll be offering a range of optional services and exclusive features as a thank-you to those who choose to support us financially. These might include early access to new builds, priority support, custom configuration assistance, or special recognition within the community. Importantly, none of these perks will restrict access to the core functionality or source code of our projects—everything fundamental will remain open source and freely available to everyone.
Our goal is to strike a balance: we want to reward and acknowledge our supporters, while staying true to our principles of openness and transparency. This approach allows us—the small, dedicated team behind AWFixer and Friends, rootNET-Mod, and Axyl Projects—to make a living doing what we love, without compromising on our ideals. By relying on the generosity and engagement of our community, we hope to build a sustainable future for Axyl Projects that benefits everyone involved.
The Goals
We love gamers. We know that gamers desire not just great performance, but also a high level of privacy, security, and reliability—needs that are often overlooked by mainstream platforms like Windows and MacOS. At Axyl Projects, we’re committed to changing that narrative. Our vision is to build an ecosystem that not only welcomes gamers, but also empowers game developers and studios to create and deploy on AxylOS with confidence. Security is at the heart of our approach: we’re designing AxylOS to be as resistant as possible to cheating, exploits, and privacy invasions, using modern sandboxing, robust permission models, and transparent open-source code. This means both players and developers can trust that their data and experiences are protected.
Experimentation is another core pillar for us. We want AxylOS to be a playground for innovation, where new ideas in gaming, user experience, and system design can be tested and refined without the constraints imposed by closed platforms. We’ll provide the tools and documentation needed for developers to push boundaries, while maintaining a stable and reliable core system for everyday users. Our commitment to reliability means rigorous testing, continuous integration, and a focus on minimizing downtime or disruptions—so you can game, create, and explore with confidence.
Diversity is equally important to us. We aim to support a wide range of hardware, input devices, and accessibility needs, ensuring that AxylOS is inclusive for all types of gamers and creators. By fostering a community that values different perspectives and backgrounds, we believe we can build a richer, more resilient ecosystem.
Of course, sustainability is key to making all of this possible. One of the things we know we have to do is make money. That’s why we’re introducing the "In the Trenches" AxylOS adoption service. We will work with you to ensure that AxylOS is not only the best option for your needs, but that your current systems and workflows are smoothly transitioned into the Axyl ecosystem—without disruption or compromise. This service is designed to help individuals and organizations adopt AxylOS confidently, while supporting the ongoing development and growth of the platform.
The Intentions
Our intentions, at their core, are about building something meaningful and accessible for everyone. We want to create an operating system that is not only powerful and flexible for developers, but also genuinely enjoyable for gamers, and approachable for everyday users—regardless of their technical background. This means focusing on intuitive design, clear documentation, and thoughtful user experiences that lower the barrier to entry without sacrificing depth or capability.
A big part of our mission is to break down the barriers that have traditionally separated users into isolated “walled gardens.” We believe in interoperability and freedom of choice, so we’re committed to making AxylOS open, standards-compliant, and compatible with a wide range of hardware and software. At the same time, we’re building a secure ecosystem that doesn’t just keep threats out, but also welcomes participation from larger companies and organizations—provided they respect our values of openness and user empowerment. We want AxylOS to be a place where both individuals and enterprises can collaborate, innovate, and thrive without being locked into restrictive systems.
Our core values are the foundation of everything we do. Privacy is non-negotiable: we design our systems to protect user data and give individuals control over their information. Transparency guides our development process, with open communication and clear decision-making. Openness means that our code, our processes, and our community are accessible to all, encouraging collaboration and shared learning. And above all, we strive to “remember the human”—to treat every user, contributor, and partner with respect, empathy, and honesty. These principles aren’t just words to us; they shape every decision we make and every feature we build, ensuring that Axyl Projects remains true to its mission as we grow.
